Fun things to do in Sarasota
Sarasota has such a great mix of laid back beach vibes, arts, food, and unique experiences that you really cannot go wrong no matter what kind of day you want to have.
Of course, one of the biggest draws is the beach. Siesta Key is known for its soft white sand and beautiful water, and it is just the kind of place where you can spend hours relaxing, swimming, or watching the sunset. It is one of those spots that never gets old, whether you are visiting for the first time or you live nearby.
If you want something a little more active, there are plenty of options. Kayaking through the mangroves, biking along scenic paths, or even exploring local parks can give you a whole different view of Sarasota. The downtown area is also full of charm with local shops, galleries, and great places to grab a bite to eat.
One of my favorite things to recommend, especially if you want something memorable and hands on, is taking one of my ocean resin classes. This is not your typical activity. It is a chance to slow down, get creative, and leave with something that is completely your own.
My classes are designed for everyone, ages 10 and up. You do not need any experience at all. Even if you have never picked up a paint brush or you already love art, you will feel comfortable and guided the entire time. Each session is just 90 minutes, so it is easy to fit into your day without feeling like a big commitment.
I also make it easy to work around your schedule. I offer availability throughout the week, and if you prefer something a little more relaxed after your beach time, you can join an early evening class.
The studio is just 10 - 15 minutes from Siesta Key, so it is a perfect stop before or after a beach day. And yes, it is fully air conditioned, which is always a bonus in Florida.
During the class, you will create your own ocean inspired resin board. It becomes more than just a project. It turns into a personal souvenir from your time here. You can even add a custom engraving to your board to make it truly yours. It is a great way to capture a memory, celebrate a special occasion, or just try something new.
What I love most is seeing people connect during the experience. Friends, couples, families, and even solo visitors all leave with something they made themselves and a memory tied to it.
Sarasota has so much to offer, from its beaches to its local culture, but adding a creative experience like this can really make your visit stand out. If you are looking to do something different, make memories, and take home a piece of your time here, I would love to have you join a class.
